Service Crew

Our dedicated team of volunteers work very hard to help maintain the Site and also undertake most of the activity instruction.

The Crew is made up of four separate teams who each work one weekend of the month, each and every month of the year.

The mixed crew are accommodated in Thrift Lodge where the standard of living is quite high with comfortable bunk beds, central heating T.V. with FreeSat. The crew are responsible for preparing all their own meals, the food is provided by the Camp Site.

Summer Staff

During the summer months Thriftwood employs activity instructors and staff. Food and accommodation are provided.

Wages are paid at £6.08 per hour for a 36 hour week.

Apprenticeships

New for 2012, working in conjunction with Kingston College, we are proud to offer, NVQ level apprenticeships in Activity Leadership.

Successful candidates will not only be part of the Thriftwood Team, but will also have the opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends

We offer a great opportunity for you to start your career in the outdoors adventure industry and the chance to gain valuable qualifications and awards as you progress. With live-in accommodation in our forest setting and food, plus a training salary this is an opportunity not to be missed. If you have experience of Scout or Guiding or working or volunteering with young people this will be an advantage, but is not essential. You will need plenty of energy, diplomacy and the ability to relate and confidently communicate. Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure.
