Information on Climbing at Thriftwood
The complex has two faces, with two platforms. The degree of dificulty is very much in the hands (and feet) of the user and varies from overhangs on the rear face to the gentle slope of the beginners wall. The facility is now floodlit to enable evening us.
The surface is resin based with a mixture of sand to provide a realistic, rock like grip. Holds are made from pieces of York stone, once again to give that natural feel.
When climbing using Site instructors we recommend no more than 15 in a group per hour.
When climbing and abseiling in the same session we can only cater for 10 in a group per hour.
